What is a visa?
Amogh is one such person who got his opportunity stolen by the visa process.
Amogh "Amogh" Kapse is a professional Asphalt 9 player from India who qualified for the *Porsche Asphalt Series 2023* which was held in Barcelona,Spain on April 27. He was one among the top 12 Grand Finals of the Asphalt Series and the was the sole Indian representative.
Out of the 12 Grand finalists, Amogh was the only one who required visa to travel to Barcelona. He applied for visa at the end of March, the qualifier was held on 17th March. He was given only 1 month time, but the actual time-frame from the day of qualifier till the day of Grand finals is supposed to be 3 months.
He was promised that he will be allowed to play from his home while others do from Barcelona(on stage) in case he doesn't get his visa on time or if there wasn't much lag between him and the other players, however it did not workout as it will question the credibility of the organizer.
He did not receive his visa and passport on the day of departure as per the schedule(24th April), hence couldn't make it to the Asphalt Series at Barcelona, he was looking for people to help him out however it was too late and his visa was rejected by Spain embassy soon after.
The grim part about this fiasco is that Amogh spent INR 24000 from his own pocket to complete the visa procedure
Acquiring visa has been such a difficult process for Indians in the past and continues to be the same, lot of opportunities slip out of hands and players who put their all feel helpless about the situation.
Amogh did also mention that the Developer and Tournament Organizer of the game, i.e. Gameloft and Promod Esports respectively were very helpful throughout the entire process.
